Very nice. I love that you used this prompt three different ways for the various points in Joyce's life. I particularly liked the second one - the description of the "liquid bridge over the troubled waters of Buffy's adolescence" was perfect.

Great character to concentrate on here. At the end I was expecting tears and the final thought about Buffy and Dawn's chance at happiness was a pleasure.
