I wish more skaters would study Meryl Davis and Tessa Virtue. AFAIK, they have their costumes made by the same designer, who whenever she uses nude sheer in their costumes (e.g., to create the impression of a sleeveless or low-back dress), it always blends so perfectly with the ladies' complexions that you can barely tell it's there. Why oh why can't other costume designers also figure out how to match nude sheer (and while they're at it, TIGHTS!) so that viewers are spared the horror of skaters wearing costumes and tights that barely match their skin tones ( ... )

I came in here just to comment on my hatred of the "tights over the skates" fandango. I have no idea how that has become so popular - it's significantly more distracting than wearing white skates. It just makes the ladies' legs look like they abruptly end in horrifying club-footed cankles.

Also, agreed on the worst costume ever. Domshabs are now sort of permanently on my shit list for that bewilderingly racist ensemble.

Oh, yeah: gloves. Generally not a fan of those, either. Johnny Weir can usually rock them pretty well, but everyone else? No. Just no.

My friend thinks I look like George Washington. I think we're going to shorten a bunch of things; it's too puffy.
