Wow, how horrible it must to find a loved one in a mass grave and have to rebury them. My heart goes out to these people, and it is a damn shame that the justice they want might not happen.
Heartbreaking and horrifying. I remember where i was when i first heard the reports of the Srebenica massacre back in '95. I hope the survivors and victims's relatives get the justice they are entitled to.
Last year, I spoke to a man who had gone to Bosnia with Canadian Peace Keepers. The reason I was speaking to him was because I worked in a mental health field, and even after almost a decade of therapy and serious work, this man was still ... tormented. He told me a lot of things I would rather forget, but he mentioned this massacre and the Dutch Peace Keepers.
When I was young, I wanted to be a Peace Keeper, but now I realize that job is more than I could have handled.
i read this this morning. just awful; i was 10 when it happened, so I didn't really know about it until high school/college, when some people would mention it in passing, but I didn't know details.
