Wait, all the news stories I'm finding about this incident say that it's ONE soldier, not that it makes it any better but no story I'm finding say that this was done by a group of soldiers.

Same here. From what I've been reading, I think it comes from some of the neighbors who could not believe one person alone could cause such carnage.

We really, really, really need to leave.

I read this story over 12 hours ago and it stated that it was ONE soldier who went into town on his own and started killing people. Then the soldier turned himself in to the military authorities.

last night my sources said that three civilians had been wounded, and then a couple hours after that there were 3 dead, 3 wounded and the count rose all night. and all by one guy.

it makes the military look like its trying to hide this. everytime new info appears they are like "this is what happened" then "THIS is what happened" and the more they repeat it with new info....

This plus the Koran burning might as well as be part of a campaign to get the US out of there. Except it will be forgotten by most in a few days. Gah.

I'm sure incidences like this (and a lot of incidents of rape too tbh) have happened a lot in Afghanistan and Iraq and have been covered up and perpertrators let off with a slap of the wrist in the past. The only reason why this incident is even getting publicized now is becuase it compliments the current US military's initiative to pull out of the 'War on terror', which is apparently what it takes to bring these terrible events to light. Fuck these assholes and fuck the military tbh

Anytime there is a military occupation, rape and murder of civilians will happen. I'm from Sri Lanka and right now the north and east parts of the country are pretty much run by the military. There definitely must be incidences of rape and murder being covered up tbh.

Military, the only institution where killings are justified all the time. My heart is so cold now I didn't even blink when I first heard of this, I just was like "oh, another one."

if the american military is anything like the canadian one, then the hiring protocols have been seriously 'relaxed' since the war in afganistan began ( ... )
