HOLY SHIT! You're from Lafayette County? I'm from Darlington!
I will die laughing if we're related or know each other.
Lafayette's been pretty democratic lately. They've voted all Dem's for President since Clinton I believe. And remember, the hospital is a COUNTY hospital. He fucked over a huge part of their population between that and the Highway Department.
I've been in Stoughton my whole life but my entire family (I think four generations now) is from Lafayette County (mostly Argyle) and I consider it home.
I was at an Assembly education committee hearing back in June and a teacher from the Argyle School District said the ag program had been cut in half and they'd lost most of their special ed teachers. That broke my heart. You can't gut ag programs in communities like that and expect the town to survive. Hopefully that woke a lot of people up down there.
I drive through Argyle every time I head back home. I love the views from the top of 23 at the height of summer. Such a gorgeous drive.
My sister lives in Woodford surrounded by in-law's all of whom farm. If people aren't driving out of the county for a factory job, they're farming, especially in that area. I swear to God, Walker is just trying to kill every single part of our economy that isn't run by a massive corporation of some sort.
