Wisconsin Democrats say likely to recall governor in 2012

November 2012, that is.

(Reuters) - Wisconsin Democrats are increasingly confident that efforts to recall the state's Republican governor in 2012 will succeed, a top official said on Wednesday, after the party scored an early win in its battle to unseat Republicans who backed a controversial anti-union law.

oh, please, Wisconsin, get rid of him. I really want to go to grad school at Madison, but I am so unwilling to enter into a PhD program at a Wisconsin public university with a teabagger running the state. >_> I'd be terrified of losing my funding.

They just voted yesterday to increase UW stystem tuition by 5.5% starting this fall. So yeah, good luck!

ugh we're at the third year in a row of tuition cuts where I go to school, and what's such an outrage is that an independent audit found that my public university was making about $30 million in profit each year the last few years. And yet they're still claiming they need to raise tuition? What a crock.

Yeah, I go there right now for my undergrad and it was my top choice for grad school. But, with Scott Walker and the Republicans in control, not going to happen.

Yeah, this isn't going to happen. The Democratic party isn't leading the recall drive, the people are. And. We. Want. Him. Gone. We're not going to wait because they think it would be politically advantageous to wait until the same election cycle as the Presidential. We're not stupid; we can see that's their plan!

What she said. We're not waiting, and I don't think I'm the only person counting the days until we can get the petitions going.

Plus I think Mike Tate was backpedaling this original statement later on, saying the DPW would follow the will of the people. He was absolutely BLASTED on Twitter for suggesting we wait until Nov. 2012.

BTW, I like your icon.

I know, I was following it. :D I'm glad he's back pedaling. Do they think just because we're mad at the GOP that we won't hold the Democrats just as responsible for their actions? Yes, people are more likely to vote in a presidential election, but look at the primaries. Those numbers were pretty damn high for a primary turnout. People are vested in the outcome of these elections and the recalls. We're not going to wait just to please their agenda.

@spsenki: Good morning, Wisconsin. You will recall Scott Walker in 172 days. #wi172 #WIrecall #wiall #wiunion #p2

I live for those daily countdown tweets. :)

And I'm a Wisconsite. Booze DOES solve everything. Just you watch. :D

@spsenski has kept me amused at some of the worst times in WI this past year on Twitter, he is awesome. I've met him in person a few times. ^_^

Yeah, I know. For all the whining that turnout was in general low, I heard it was at least 20%, which for a primary is not bad.

I'm going to be a nervous wreck for the general elections though.
