In April, Sgt. Maj. Barrett told Military.com that he saw no evidence of Marines leaving because of the DADT repeal

Even if there were Marines who wanted to leave over DADT, Robert Gates point blank told them that there wouldn't be an opt-out for them. That someone even asked is wtf, but it's nice to see people like Gates and Barrett smacking them down when they do.

I say let them leave, under certain conditions:

1. They buy out their contract AND pay back the government for the time remaining AND the money spent training them. (Kiss your tax returns goodbye for the next few decades, because that shit is not cheap.)
2. They give up their GI Bill and VA benefits.
3. They get a "general under other-than-honorable conditions" discharge and an RE-4 re-enlistment code (not eligible to re-enlist at all).

If it means THAT much to them to run away, they won't have any problem with that. /shrug
