I doubt there will be an "exodus of troops from the military if the repeal goes into effect" since every male friend I know who was in or is in the miltary knows who the gay people are working in the military around them and most of the people working with said gay people don't care.

As one said, "The repeal would just make it so the the dumbfucks who do care can't get violent toward the gay person or harrass them."

So I seriously doubt a "mass exodus" of people leaving the military because of the repeal will happen.

I wonder and hope that it will also bring some of those who don't care about gays in the military to the defense of the one's being harassed, since doing so before could subject you to the possibility of being discharged "by mistake" because "if you are defending a gay, you must be gay too!"

And even if there is an exodus-how many gay people will now decide to enlist? Plus, in my books, we don't need folks like that in our military in the first place (the discriminating ones, that is).
