I have a feeling it's Stockholm Syndrome setting in for Republican women. My mom and I had a huge argument over him this evening, and it ended in an "agree to disagree," but I know for a fact she couldn't stand him in the primaries.
Okay they don't like her, but do they want her as president? Because you don't have to like someone to think they'd do a good job. I personally have really disliked some people I work with but they were amazing at what they do. I wish some poll would ask both questions at the same time. Or has someone and I've missed it? With all the polls I can't be sure.
I do a lot of YouGov polls, and they generally just ask if I have "favorable opinions" of various political people. I personally interpret that as whether I think they would do a good job as president (or, for non-presidential candidates, if I think they've done a good job in whatever their political job is), but Idk how other people interpret it.
I've only ever gotten one call but I just went with what I thought of them as a person because they asked how do I view X on a scale of 1-5 but I don't know how many people do that which is why asking both questions would be helpful.
Yeah, it really would. I never thought about that before, but it would be a more nuanced way of looking at things. Maybe I'll suggest that next time I do a YouGov political survey, even though I doubt they'll change anything about their approach just because of one person's suggestion.
Just because some voters 'don't like' her doesn't mean they won't vote for her or don't want her to be president. I don't need to like her personality and I can dislike some of her choices over the years but yes, I do want her to be president because i do trust that she's competent and there are many aspects of her experience and positions that I DO like.
The idea that these two are 'just as bad' as the other is utter and complete bullshit.
