Definitely boycotting, though I really only buy Ronzoni anyway. Still, I hope Barilla's sales tank.

No problem boycotting them. Wegman's pasta is tastier, and I make my own sauces. Healthier and much better tasting.

Also, this guy is a pig.

My hand-crank pasta maker and I would like to tell this guy to fuck right off.

On Thursday, Mr Barilla issued a statement to apologise, explaining that he was trying to say "simply that the woman plays a central role in a family".

It annoys me extra when anti-gay bigots seem to completely forget that women can be gay too. The universe does not revolve solely around the cock, people.

I always imagine the people saying things like that must make exceptions for gay women because they imagine all lesbians as they are portrayed in porn, just there to be sexy for the straight men, and also not really lesbians at all. Which is just all kinds of fail...

I'm amused in a sense that clearly, he sees they have enough customers in the pasta market which is fairly jammed with brands ( at least 10 on offer at my local store) that he can happily piss off people. They WILL go to other brands, just as he asked.

We don't buy it anyway, so no big loss, we have lots of options for non-bigoted pasta brands. I can't say it's a boycott when I wasn't consuming the product in the first place i guess.

And seriously, all pasta tastes the same to me. I can buy the generic store brand and be just as happy. I used to choose Barilla if I had a choice, but now I'll be getting Ronzoni or whatever's on sale that's not Barilla.

With some foods, the store brand foods are created in LITERALLY the same factory, with the same ingredients and equipment, as the name brand foods. They just put them in different boxes.
