Sep 25, 2012 21:51

On the day that Republican leaders had hoped Todd Akin would drop out of the Senate race, the defiant GOP nominee launched a statewide bus tour with renewed backing from fiscal and antiabortion conservatives.Alongside more than 100 supporters, many of them faith leaders at conservative congregations, the GOP candidate whose campaign was upended by ( Read more... )

I saw a video that he put on his website last week where a bunch of women discussed why they support Akin. Regardless of what I think of his comments, I thought that it was a very well-done video. I actually think that Akin just might be able to redeem himself and win the race. The GOP would also be foolish to withhold funding from a winnable race - I agree with Gingrich on that point.

Fuck him. And fuck anybody who votes for him or considers him even remotely fit for office.

McCaskill has already started hammering him now that he can't back out, and she is actually *up* in some polls. My state sucks hard, but i hope not so hard as to elect this miserable fuckhead.

YES. Good luck!

I'm more than a bit frustrated by my state (Kansas), and my district, because we didn't even field a candidate against the TP idiot that's now in office, but we do have Dems running in every other House race, and a bunch of state legislature races, also!

So hopefully, we can put a couple of Dems back in the seats for the House! I can't really afford to give them much financial support, but I post links to their web pages and advertise their names on my FB page, so my Flist knows that there are alternatives and who they are. Plus I'm going door-to-door in my town for my state house candidate.

This!
I don't have a lot of extra cash, but i sign petitions and talk to people and post a lot of stuff on my FB. Hopefully it filters out.

A few people i know have been all 'omg, so bored of this election stuff' and i feel like - for fuck's sake, it's *important* to at least know who is running and what they think - sorry if whose going to be in charge of the govt. come January is important to me!

I saw a really....disturbing photo/graphic on FB the other day:

"If 99% of the people voted, it wouldn't matter what the 1% did."

There are so very many people who are terribly disturbed by all the crap going on, but they can't be assed to get up one day a year (average/guess) and go to their public polling place and place marks on a ballot. AAARGH!

It seriously makes me want to smack them upside the head, Gibbs-style.

Every day I go to work I drive pass a sign supporting Todd Akin for Senate.

I also drive by the most depressing Baptist church in the world, where every notice is saying that either the kingdom of heaven is at hand or their informational meeting about the mark of the beast.
