Exciting! However, this is sort of eh to me:

"Unlike Plan B, which is available for women aged 17 and older without a prescription, ella would require a doctor's note if cleared for the U.S. market."

:/ I hope this changes. Getting a note is difficult -- I'm unsure if you can even get a note without an appointment? It might depend on your personal rapport with your doctor and getting an appointment is a hassle. Do you have any idea? Anyway, the extra two days this new EC provides might not be as promising for some with a busy schedule/for those unable to get a doctor's note.

Planned Parenthood (at least around here) lets you get emergency contraception either on location, or they will write you a prescription, no appointment necessary. I'm not sure if it would be the same if this is deemed more "dangerous" for lack of a better term, but in my experience PP is pretty good about working urgently (during normal business hours, anyway...)

Ah, I didn't even really think about Planned Parenthood. I guess I assumed they would have mentioned it in the article.

(Btw, glad you undeleted!)

thats what most women I know utilize for BC anyway. A doctor that is iffy about giving you a prescription is probably the same doctor that labels you a slut for wanting ANY BC, and most women avoid it all together. Unfortunately this also means the new pill won't make as much money, because my areas PP tends to give things out for basically free.
