Hm... I'd say the possibility to own your own house has decreased also in many ways compared to, say 15 years ago, because on the earth more and more people walk around, but there's only limited space to prepare space for human living. Even the Western countries are affected by that.
The price bubble created around it is one thing, but the other is - if most countries have a living culture of living in a house and apartments are an issue of the rich, only calculated in potential living space: Who takes up more land? Everyone living alone in its space instead of 3- or 4-story-houses all piled up above the other.

Well, exactly. Very inefficient. They build houses bigger than they need to be for comfortable living only because people can get mortgage and buy it. Should it be just cash nobody would afford it but they came up with mortgages and enslave people and make tons of money on top of it.. How many people actually even own a house? Everyone is in debt. So I would say, this 60% they are giving is very liquid, because lots of people who say they own a house tomorrow may be evicted due to inability to pay bills.

What I meant is that fewer people actually own property , they owe to bank and can lose the property any day. And the population can be easily provided with everything comfortable if we think in terms what we need and not what we want. Of course if everyone wants a huge house with 10 bedrooms and four cars per family of four, it is too many people in the world to have all these. But if people live in apartments and ride bus and it is comfortable then everyone can be provided for. There are different agenda and different priorities in this society.
