Yup! I know the actress who was playing Stab!Sidney was one of the cult members. Basically the whole house was the cult aside from the trio I think.

I kind of expected it. The first season was so good, and then it just went off the rails. The other cult plot lost me in season two. I really just stuck around for Shawn Ashmore tbh.

I've also heard that Constantine was cancelled as well.
