OhNoTheyDidn't Featured In New LiveJournal Book - "LiveJournal: The First Decade"
If you follow news, then you may know that LiveJournal was going to publish a book commemorating the site's 10th birthday. Well, the book is now complete and ohnotheydidnt has a two page spread in the special 118 page publication!
The spread features a look back at some of the memorable moments in ONTD history: Kermit Bale, Team Jolie / Team Aniston, Peen-Gate, Britney Spears, deaths (including the temporary deaths of ONTD).
The community has reached many records. It was the first to reach LJ's 10,000 comment limit in just three hours. It also reached the undocumented limit for journals of 16.7 million comments, causing lj_maintenance to perform emergency maintenance on the databases. And although it stops counting at 50,000, the number of ONTD members is actually over 90,000 and growing every day.
Also included in the spread is an in-depth interview with the community's maintainers: thelittlevoice, brenden, and ecctv.
If ONTD was going to write an anonymous love letter, who would it be addressed to? - Finding one person all of ONTD loves is...well, near impossible. A majority seem to love Conan O'Brien, though, so I think he'd get our letter. Love you, Conan!
Aside from ONTD, there is an interview with founder brad, design advice from thefulcrum owner grrliz, member artwork, and journal entries from various members and communities in the book. Spoiler Alert...There is a recipe for Bacon Apple Pie on page 35 (via food_porn)!
