Aren't there plenty of churches out there who actually 'reenact' the crucifixion with real people every year because it's a weird fetish to show how devout they are? I was raised East Coast Catholic so idk for sure, but that's def a thing in the evangelical world, right? So if people are *~offended, I think it's more to do with who he is than the actual imagery/action...hmmm. Except not hmmm because it's obvious as hell.

It is. My mom would tell me about crucifuxion reenactments as a kid. She showed me photos once and I’m still haunted. And she wonders why I didn’t force religion on my kid…

I remember the pentacostal church I was forced to attend did plays often enough that there was a spot in the floor to raise a cross for someone to hang on. And I remember monthly communion; a little square wafer cracker and grape juice in a tiny, clear shot glass. Makes me gag now thinking of that wafer platter being passed around the entire congregation. 🤢

I work with children. Sometimes I bore them with things from "back in the day". I continue to stand on the truth...Windows Vista was trash and XP is the best version of Windows.
