The Take examines how sixth grade teacher Mary Kay Letourneau's grooming and abuse of her student inspired the Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore film May December.

They also dive into the harmful "male student has an "affair" with the hot teacher" trope in society and media, and how the trope puts the blame on the victim.

I'm glad things have been changing in the past few years re: grooming and abuse of a student by an older woman. I can't believe when I was watching Dawson's Creek I used to think Pacey sleeping with his teacher was 'cool' (I was 12 and didn't know any better)

I appreciated that "A Teacher" showed how fucked up that situation is and how badly it can mess someone up.

I need to stop confusing Todd Haynes and Todd Solondz cos I've been excited to watch this thinking it's by Solondz

I still can’t get over her lusting after a 6th grade boy! What a disgusting human being.

This exact thing just happened in my nephews’ and niece’s school district, except this boy was 14. It’s fucking disgusting and these women are predators.
