Lol yeah and now I could watch a YouTube video about physics and probably learn what I need to know.

I graduated HS in 07 in NYC and I had to take physics, too. We were required to do 3 years of math and science. 9th grade- bio, 10th grade - chem, 11th grade - physics. In senior year, we only were required to take history and english and could drop math and science. I dropped science and kept up with Math and went into Calc. I also chose to drop my language senior year, but we were required to take 3 yrs of a language (and my school also required 2 yrs of ancient latin or greek on top of it)

Yeah I at least had a good physics teacher. My chem teacher was one of those people who clearly hated kids but became a teacher anyway and she was basically like “if you can’t keep up I don’t care” and I had to get a tutor.

Most kids who were normally A students would fail or do poorly in her classes but the school would never do anything about it.

My daughter is entering middle school in nyc next year so I know a bunch of nyc middle schools offer the 9th grade earth science regents test in 8th grade so you enter high school in “advanced” science so that you’re able to take AP in 12th if you want. My guess is that’s why the subject years are off. Annoying you still had to do them all.

I did earth science in middle school. I went to a specialized HS so all of our classes were at an AP level and we started college courses junior year

Same with Australia - at least when I went to high school. I dropped it for the final two years.
