I feel bad about Bill needing to mask due to his autoimmune condition but I'm glad that he is continuing to mask, unlike everyone else who is acting like COVID doesn't exist anymore. I have a friend with an autoimmune disorder who was masking every time she left the house years before COVID, so I get where he's coming from.

My husband's childhood friend has to take immunity suppressing drugs due to a medical condition (I think he had leukemia and then a transplant?). He got a COVID vaccinate as soon as it was available. His doctor tested him a few weeks later and it had absolutely no effect due to the other drugs he has to take.

I think about them whenever I see people complaining about how terrible it is to wear a mask.

i really wish people cared about those with autoimmune conditions or are immuno-compromised. some able-bodied people's considerations only extend to themselves, sadly.

Exactly, masking is SUCH a simple intervention, and people are acting like they're being jettisoned out of a spaceship and dying from asphyxiation. And by everyone else *not* masking, the burden is placed entirely on the most vulnerable. Same with people who delayed or refused the vaccine.
