When I was a kid, for some reason Oscar the Grouch was my fav. I have an Oscar funko that says “Scram” that I used to have on my office desk back before I began working from home due to covid lol

Kermit (as a news caster & detective)

Was it because you loved the hat and the coat?

I always thought sesame street and the muppets were revivals. I didn't realize they were both from Jim Henson.

I should say this was when I was younger.

really??? how?? the muppets are what made Jim Henson, and Sesame Street was like his #2 passion project

I don't know 🤣

I just thought someone else made sesame street to copy the muppets. Even when I saw The Muppet Movie and it had sesame street characters in it, I thought oh they worked on it together.

This is wonderful and I love her design, but somehow I don't think the people they need to reach with her character (in terms of combating racial hate) are letting their kids watch Sesame Street these days because it teaches anti-conservative concepts like tolerance and spelling.

This is so true. It's fucking frustrating though. Kids seeing diversity onscreen is so so so so crucial for them not to grow up and turn into assholes. Smh.

I think that's okay. it's impossible to reach everyone and socialization with peers supersedes socialization with parents right around the age that kids are watching sesame street (5? 6? idk children). if some kids are exposed to new ideas of what is and isn't acceptable they can spread through osmosis even if they're not reaching the child directly.

I'm relatively surprised it took this long for an Asian character to show up. Especially when Sesame Street is NY-based in universe lol.

Aww she's a cutie!
