Just hours before the fatal Thursday accident, seven of the film’s camera crew packed up their personal gear and walked off the job, citing a wide range of complaints. Several of those who quit wrote letters of resignation.

The LA Times also found a Local 44 source that said that "live rounds" is an industry term for any gun loaded with any material, even a blank, so LIVE live round might not be accurate.

The films production company, Rust Movie Productions LLC

I'm not an entertainment lawyer, but do most movies have production companies made specifically for that movie? and as an LLC (which I thought were mostly for very small businesses to not have so much responsibility if something goes wrong).

Yes it's a very common practice. Many tv shows set up a new company for each season as well.

Yeah. I think it makes it easier to split profits since investors in each season/production can be different and/or to limit liability or losses should a season or production be unprofitable or get sued. Basically it keeps the rich rich while screwing over the workers and vendors should a production default even if it’s like a WB backed production technically WB isn’t liable to pay any bills “Pluto Nash inc” doesn’t pay.

Wow. It sounds like they were cutting corners everywhere. I wouldn't be surprised if this resulted in criminal charges for some of the people involved, if there were known issues. Horrible that this wasn't fixed before it resulted in someone's death.

This just keeps getting worst, the negligence is honestly so disgusting. Cut all these corners for what?? Money? Now a woman has lost her life. This was so preventable and there better be reform coming, this NEVER should’ve happened. Use visual fx for the guns for goodness sake, it’s 2021. Technology and vfx have come such a long way, there’s no excuse.
