Damn, The Last Duel really underperformed. I see it has 7.7 on IMDb, so I guess is not bad.

Looking at the box office this year, people are only going to the movies to see action or horror.

Besides Free Guy, did another comedy killed it at the Box Office this year? I know it has action too but It was funny

The Last Duel was great; Ridley Scott's best film since at least Matchstick Men, and possibly since Thelma & Louise.

But I'm not sure I'd call it an underperformance. Historical dramas (and really, dramas in general) just don't perform at the box office anymore. I was kind of surprised the studio greenlighted this, because even pre-pandemic this seemed like a box office loser no matter the quality. Which sucks, because these days you can seemingly only get big money from one kind of movie.

Watching Halloween Kills tonight!

Saw V/H/S 94 (Timo Tjahjanto had the best segment, the rest was meh) and Queenpins (which was a movie, the cast was totally wasted on it).

Yes!! The Subject was my favorite out of all of them, followed by Storm Drain. Terror could have been a great one, but it really fell flat.

It was a such a mess. Like at first, I liked the idea of community taking Michael down, but then it just went off the rails and was very saccharine at moments that didn't make sense.

Same. I felt obligated to watch it as a horror fan & fan of Halloween.

I am watching Halloween Kills right now and it's SO BAD (the acting and the plot), it's almost funny. Anthony Michael Hall was a poor choice as the male lead. David Gordan Green might be a hack.
