The right wing doesn't care about gay rights anywhere. It's an anti-Muslim talking point. When the left wing elects a Muslim or campaigns to allow a Ramadan celebration as part of a holiday event in a public school, they're all "how could you celebrate these evil people who throw homosexuals off of buildings?????!!!" but when their little Brayden or Hunter or whatever beats the gay kid in school up for looking at him the wrong way and then gets in trouble for it, "my boy's being persecuted for expressing his faith!!! He's a good kid and has accepted Christ into his life, so it's not my job to punish him!!!"

Sounds like instead of giving Clark Kent glasses (maybe hundreds of years ago when glasses were invented that would have been a bold choice but not today!) they should make him go be an optometrist in Africa or become a doctor who solves blindness or something!

Nah, DC clearly has some kind of “Robins shall not seriously date Supers” thing so they mixed it up for us in a way that people are unlikely to ship. (I actually almost get it, tying major characters together like that is risky because of the constant back and forth. Look at BatCat or DickBabs Vs DickKori. Messy. But also I want messy gay soapy superhero relationships that span decades, damnit.)
