Julia Ducournau's Titane, which won the Palme d'Or back at July's edition of the Cannes Film Festival, has been selected by France as its submission for the International Feature Film category for the 2022

I know that it won the palm d'or but this is a wild choice for an oscars submission. the plot summary is accurate but makes this bonkers ass film sound downright mundane.

I was!! I did have to close my eyes a few times, but it wasn’t as bad as I’d imagined. I gotta watch Raw now!

It has tons of buzz from festivals and whatnot and I could see it getting a nom, but I'm already predicting a bunch of "I didn't understand it" and "I turned it off after 10 minutes" and "were they even speaking English?!!?!" from those anonymous Oscar ballots next January, so no, I do not have much hope from that group.
