I know that it won the palm d'or but this is a wild choice for an oscars submission. the plot summary is accurate but makes this bonkers ass film sound downright mundane.

It has tons of buzz from festivals and whatnot and I could see it getting a nom, but I'm already predicting a bunch of "I didn't understand it" and "I turned it off after 10 minutes" and "were they even speaking English?!!?!" from those anonymous Oscar ballots next January, so no, I do not have much hope from that group.
