2018, when I started: ~85 people

Good journalists work and fight so hard for the truth, to help people's voice be heard, shine a light on ignored situations, and it's depressing how much harder it's becoming to be a journalist as time goes by.
Journalism is one of the most important professions for a democratic country, for justice to prevail, so it's one with a high risk. Here in Mexico, being a good journalist means risking your life. The same goes for the rest of the world. So I'm really happy that this Nobel prize highlights the amazing, dangerous and important job that journalists do

I've followed some of Maria Ressa's work especially, and I think that rewarding journalists is so important in the current climate.
