okay, since he’s vaxxed and says his symptoms are very mild… is it bad that my main reaction to this is “noooooo this means no Cody rides for at least two weeks”

wishing them both a speedy recovery!

That was my reaction when I first heard he was on dancing with the stars! I thought he wouldn’t be doing rides while he was on the show. I feel so bad he’s going to miss Britney week :(

right? he would have SHINED! I'll go back and ride his britney ride when I'm feeling down, his classes always make me smile & do a good job at distracting you (which I need 'cause I'm not naturally a fitness person lol)

The Britney ride is the best and my go to when I need a pick me up!

Cody is my favorite peloton instructor by far to the point where I don’t even know if I would continue using it if he was gone/his classes got purged.

I feel so bad for him since he had a pretty bad bout of covid in February. I did really judge him snd Cheryl flying back and forth from LA to NYC every week. Peloton could have easily set him up remote in LA and it would have cut down the risk so much.

I hope DWTS doesn’t kick him out for this. They decided to have their show during the pandemic, how do they penalize a contestant for contracting covid?

Cody is the only reason I have a Peloton membership tbh. I don’t own their bike, so I ride on a cheap stationery one, but his classes are great and I always feel included in the whole thing.

I think it's less about penalizing him and more about keeping everyone else on the show safe so that the outbreak doesn't spread to more people. I really hope that he quarantined until he got his test results. If he already started rehearsing with Britt, then she could have it now too.

Oh I definitely think he should be quarantined! More he shouldn’t be eliminated just because he got covid. They should have had a plan for this when they decided to film during covid.

I wish them both speedy recoveries.

That being said, I don't like the way the show handled this. Apparently Cheryl was feeling off as early as Friday but continued rehearsing with Cody that day but they made it seem like she felt sick later than she actually did in the edit. The show must go on is not an attitude any of the cast or crew should take considering covid.

There's no way forward for them at this point. They can't dance for two weeks at the least and no one should get a two week bye (or is it by? I'm just realizing now I don't know which spelling is correct.) It's a shame because he was one of the stronger dancers but they won't be able to perform so I'd say eliminate them and give Cody a chance to come back next season if he's interested.

Just like with most vaccines, side effects are rare but they can happen. You're still far more likely to experience severe complications from COVID than the vaccine. Your friend sounds like she was just one of the unlucky ones. :(

I have an autoimmune disease and have horrendous reactions to the vaccines, too. Each one is worse than the last (I've had three). Even though the side-effects are awful for me, they usually clear up within a few days, so I will continue getting the vaccinations whenever they're recommended to me.

With any vaccine there’s always a small percentage of people who get bad reactions

Sometimes people are just allergic to things. Both my brothers were allergic to penicillin and my mom to sulfa drugs, and they found out by having allergic reactions to the meds.

I have a classmate in my krav maga class who is a free diver. I asked if he was vaccinated and he said, "fuck yeah I am. I can't mess with my lungs suffering long-term damage." That's why it surprised me to find out that my coworker probably isn't vaccinated because there's a large anti-vaxxer population in the surfing community. It's reckless for anyone to not get vaccinated for this, but especially when you're doing sports near and underwater. I really don't get it.
