Lea wasn't even 24 when Idina's first episode aired

let us assume Rachel was 16-17, and a 40 year old actor can easily play anyone 40-45 = 45 year old mom with a 16 year old kid, had her at 29.. Even if she played her own age, 40, then she would've had the kid at 24. Her playing a high schooler's mom at 40 is hardly outrageous.

this isnt anywhere near that other post we had where the main actors had massive age gaps

Wasn't her whole storyline supposed to be that she had her in high school and gave her up bc she was too young?? The ages make sense, it's fine!

It's wild that Ryan Murphy ended up using a lot of fan head cannons/theories/etc for this mess of a show.

I cringe at how much I loved Glee early on and then that went away real fast in the middle of Season 2.

Lea was 26 but her character wasn’t so playing her mom made sense. Also, she could have declined the role too if the idea of playing a mother bruised her ego.

I mean, this is pretty common in TV...often the parents won't be that much older than the actors playing the teens.

At 40 though, idt its unrealistic for her to be playing a mom - even if Lea was older irl.
