the very pro-Lutfi doc claims SL was the fall guy to get Britney into a conservatorship.

okay I haven't watched this new doc, the only one I've watched is the one that was on Hulu earlier this year but that felt pretty pro-Lufti too? why is he coming off as a good guy in all these docs? like, do these doc makers not understand that they don't need a 'hero' in her story other than her? it feels like they're painting jamie as bad and sam as good because jamie hated him, but maybe they were just both bad?

Even stans are making Lutfi into a good guy now. That is what makes me nervous.

It's only the young stans who didn't witness his reign in real time. This guy is bad fucking news. Even if he wasn't drugging her, he was still inviting the papz into her house without permission from her, isolating her, fucking with her head etc etc

they just want him to leak the unreleased music he was bragging about having on twitter

The Sam Lufti thing is interesting, because while I don't doubt he is shady (didn't he try and attach himself to other young women too?), it's weird to look at everything that happened back then through the lens of what we apparently know now.

He was involved in the Amanda Bynes situation when her parents were trying to get a conservatorship for her

He was good friends with Courtney Love for a while too but they had a falling out. Then like last year Courtney revealed Lou Taylor tried to prey on her too. Shit is wild.

ugh this sounds trashy.

I still think that the Hulu docs are either Project Rose OR they at least know their stuff enough to want to feed into that theory by prominently featuring roses.

What's project rose?

it's something Britney's made reference to over the past year. supposedly it's a photography project or something, but it's never been fully confirmed what it is, but she keeps talking about it.

i'm convinced it's project rose too. when britney critized the cnn documentary yesterday she talked about project rose without any context. if you consider that the hulu doc is project rose, the post makes a lot more sense

Okay not directed at this post/op or doco in particular, but generally: where’s the line between what the public needs to know to understand her situation (& those of the many more others in similar arrangements) and this just becoming a reality drama and entertainment?

I think we're past this line for this. If they're making Sam Lufti into a good guy for the sake of getting new content...

I would say the public doesn't need to know any of this. Only Britneys legal team and the authorities who are investigating this whole thing.

But as we saw, the legal system completely failed her and was complicit. And without the public demanding answers she would still be in the exact same situation. So as much as I hate how public this all is, it almost seems necessary.

I agree. Britney's situation should never have happened period, and it is really sad and fucked up that it took all this public stuff to make some progress, but it was needed at this point.

It's a lot to think about :(
