The Portland-based studio, run by Travis Knight (You know, Chilly T, the son of the creator of Nike) has not set a release date, but anyone who's been in animation circles for the past 4 years knew this

Colin Meloy (the author of the book/lead singer of the Decemberists) is psyched!!

The book was ultimately written as a love letter to Portland and to Forest Park; the folks at Laika, I think, get that better than anyone.

I remember starting this book but never finishing it. I know there's like a big bird in it? Laika always knocks it out of the park so I'm sure the movie will be amazing
