If we were to do a toxicology report on all these "high-performer" men, I think we'd find an alarming amount of drugs in their system that keeps them functioning in such a way.

Also sociopathy plays a large part in it.

History loves glossing over the fact that many "powerful" men were habitual drug/alcohol users.

Which is esp alarming considering that drugs and alcohol had practically ZERO regulation on their strengths/ingredients during the times in which these men held their positions...
