At the time, he was the one who was super in demand movie wise, so he was probably working a lot. Not that it's an excuse obviously.

He wasn't as in demand as Reese. The dude is a dick.

In 99', he was the next "it" dude. His career never made it to Reese levels obviously, but he was the big thing between them at that point. Reese took very small roles after she had Ava until she did Legally Blonde and she became huge.

She should have just gone around telling people "Do you know who I am?" I'm sure she would have gotten help that way.

(Never forget.)

Yes, I know that moms need help. Not downplaying that, but celebs have entourages, so sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up, Reese "Do you know who I am?" Witherspoon.

I'm in a really shitty mood. I wanted to donate a kidney to my sister. I can't. So I'm pissed off at the world in general, and here's another dumbfuck rich celebrity who has the whole fucking world at their fingertips and I'm just like... what the fuck ever. When you don't have the world handed to you one time when you fuck up, you pull out the "Do you know who I am?" card. Just seeing her face reminded me of it. It sucks. Everything sucks. I hate life.

I didn’t know she was that young. So going from this, where was Ryan? He always came off as an asshole and jealous of her success.

As someone said above, he was in his brief career surge. But honestly, with or without a partner around, early parenthood at that age would still be rough. Unless your friends all planned to be parents in their early 20s, it can be super isolating.

Ryan Philipe being a POS aside

I strongly agree with parenting not being a two people job. That saying, it takes a village, really says it all Imo.

I know in the US the culture isn't like that but in most other cultures raising kids is a family thing. Like grandparents helping out. Aunts, uncles. Close friends. Etc. We're not meant to go through this shit on our own.

Huh? Everyone has their families help out. The only constraint is distance. Some people don't live near any of their family members and may not have friends who can help. I don't know a single person who hasn't had help from families, especially with newborns.

My parents are older and have mobility issues, I'm an only child, and neither my husband nor I have other relatives within 1000 miles. So that's that.

Parents really need community support tbh. It's absolutely insane that mothers are basically expected to be superhuman. The US especially is set up to be so anti-family despite everything it claims. Idk how anyone manages it. I know I definitely couldn't do it.

I think most countries are tbh We live in a society that basically forces women to breed while offering them hardly no finacial/emotional support. It's very omg you HAVE to be a mother, your life has no meaning otherwise and when the woman does it it's lol fuck you deal with it. Fucking atrocious.
