i enjoyed the han solo film, but yeah, killing her off was such a joke. poor writing.
isn't it called fridging or is that a different scenario?

I've not seen the film but fridging is when a woman getting hurt only serves as a plot point for the male protagonist. Just from cinema being what it is I'm assuming you're correct.

It's not in this case. She just dies during an action scene. She's not involved enough with Solo's story for it to be proper fridging.

I don't remember everything about Solo, but I remember thinking EVERY side character who dies was more interesting than the one character they chose to focus on, the old white guy. Like, it had a cool, diverse cast of secondary characters and were like, lets kill them all except for him!!

Were Han, Danaerys, and the female rebel the only main characters who survived

Lando (obviously) survived as well

chewie survived. even if they had a really stupid scene where they seemed to be setting up chewie getting killed lmfao

The 'unavoidable' death of allies is such a lazy way to make us sympathetic toward surviving characters. She deserved better

She's right and she should say it. Though Solo as a film was pointless, just like the the entire new trilogy. Rogue One remains the best thing out of the new wave of the SW movies.

but that was pointless too! it was a big budget fanfic where everyone dies! what was the POINT???

Honestly I was just impressed that they did the logical thing and killed everyone off rather than attempting (even more) crazy retcon just to sell more action figures, lol.

It was bold and really perfect, I'm surprised they didn't have to beg Disney, iirc they prepared the "safe" version too with survivors but were basically told to do whatever they want.
