Is Outlander's rpf fandom still chugging along? Do they think that Caitríona's baby is really Sam's? I'm too lazy to investigate but I am curious.
Also since Kylie is one of the moms-to-be, I must say "Justice for Pitch!"

But now Sam has commented congratulating the “two (three!)” of them, so I’m not sure what gymnastics are next.
Two entities ordered a copy of her marriage license once it became available and posted it publicly, and for those who believe those documents are legit, some don’t see a problem with the idea of her faking a whole marriage for some reason relating to her and Sam’s careers, her insecurities, imminent danger to the family, etc.

iirc, they often claim that she's trapped in a loveless marriage and still in love with Sam so presumably they will think it's Sam's baby then.

"We are so grateful for this little soul… that he chose us as his parents[...]"
This is super snarky and pointless, but I feel like when people thank their baby for "choosing" them it seems disingenuous and creepy to me. Like nah, y'all chose to have a kid and bring them into the world. Imagining that a little soul was looking down in heaven and went, "Oh yes I will pick these people" feels like a way of trying to claim the baby has an equal responsibility somehow.
Yes I am overthinking this, no it's not my business.

Some believe children choose their parents, that babies have souls who, if unsatisfied, will come back to the non-living world, etc etc
Every individual is going to frame the arrival of a new human being in their lives to apprehend/comprehend the change and challenges it comes with.
I think you need to open your mind a little.

Also, my own experience with an awful parent and knowing other people who had terrible upbringings with abusive or neglectful parents makes me cringe at this wording because when I read it, I see "you're responsible for choosing a parent who didn't take care of you."
It's not about me failing to respect other cultures knowingly, it's my own baggage coupled with the specific people I've seen making those statements.
