it’s hard enough being a woman, even harder being a black woman, harder still to be an unashamed fat black woman. there’s usual stuff we say abt popstars like their music sucks or their outfit looks stupid, but the vitriol lizzo gets is out of this world.

lbr, they call her mammy because she's a large, black woman, and they think "she makes music white women like" (basically 'whew she must support and tap dance for them') which....that's not her primary aim? If that demographic likes it, she didn't tell them to or against?

Whatever you feel about the song, she's out here living her life and getting hate for no reason.

I don't think she makes music white women like. It just generally has broad appeal. Like, 'Tempo' was not for white women lol... I just think about Cardi B too. She's got massive mainstream success, but her songs definitely do not cater to white women. People are so fucking rude.
