if this show eliminated 90% of the rape, I could get behind it more (and yet we'd still be left with about 1 rape per season). It's just too much.

Also anything outside of Scotland has been boring as shit

It really is too much rape. By the end of season 5, nearly everyone in the fraser family has been raped.

there are other ways to show that a non-modern world is gritty other than rape. Writers really don't have to be that creative to show that and yet the go to is always rape???

Yeah, I couldn't get through the books either.

Season 1 is the only one I can watch, all the rest are just boring as shit with rapey and convoluted plots.

Plus, it's just not the same without Tobias. This man does not get enough praise.

Bree and Roger are a snooze and the Virginia seasons have been a drag too.

I'm annoyed that Bree doesn't have even the slightest Bostonian accent.

the actress can barely do a nondescript american accent. you're asking for too much

Frankly, she isn't much of an actress. She is the weak link in the cast.

I think I only managed to finish the fifth book before losing interest. But I only made it one season.

One day I might marathon the whole thing when it's done

Same. I made it to book 5 and season 1. I looooved the first book when I was 16. I really don’t think Catriona works as Claire, and no actor was going to really be able to capture Jamie. Sam is all right, but he needed more mischievous charm

I was about the same age when I read Outlander! They really grip you when you're that age!

I was 15 or 16 when I read the first few books and I was obsessed with them. I've probably read the first couple books 3 or 4 times. I think the fact that I have so much nostalgia for that time is why I've continued to read the books.
