Add:
Gigi Hadid
Dakota Johnson
Riley Keogh
Lily Collins
Emma Roberts etc...

All have used this as a response to the nepotism question.

All need to take a page from the Jamie Lee Curtis playbook.

Nepotism has been a thing since forever in all areas. Hollywood (and politics) are just more transparent about it because of being so public. It's just one of many facets of living a privileged life.

I was gonna say, this is common in pretty much every vocation (not saying it's right, but it isn't JUST a Hollywood thing). People get jobs based on family or friend connections all the time whether they're actually qualified or not.

Yeah, you get these jobs that pay poverty level wages designed to weed out regular folk in favour of people who can afford to wait out a few years of being paid dirt after which they jump to 6-figure executive positions and tout 'meritocracy'

It's also one of the reasons for depressed wages in those industries, they are artificially kept low to keep the circle closed as it were.

nobody thinks these doofuses (doofi??) haven't worked hard or faced adversity in their entire careers, just that it's pretty easy for those of us with eyes to see that celebrity name brand recognition matters when casting and promoting a film or show.
