In fairness, this is apparently a short film.

A short film whose casting apparently merited trade coverage. https://t.co/CKZZt1wopH

Hopper Penn is only 27.

Obviously a product of nepotism like Ben Stiller is going to defend nepotism.

It is directed by Steven Spielberg’s daughter, Destry, and written by Stephen King’s son, Owen. The short film is also set to star Sean Penn’s son, Hopper Penn.

This part says it all, like, are you serious? Lol

It really says it all in response to her "I make it my mission to bring new talent into the industry & give opportunities to artists of all backgrounds." claim. LOL people will really tell themselves any lie possible to feel they 100% earned their spots and aren't contributors to the problem. Makes me think of a few weeks ago with the racist comments Diane Sawyer's niece made after claiming she got to where she was on merit alone (at ESPN as if DS has no pull there or in broadcast journalism) but the other anchor rose due to special treatment for being Black.

The View post being underneath this is funny since they talked about it today.

nepotism is totally in play here, doesnt mean that the short film will be successful or that they will have lasting careers but they have their foot in the door 100% easier than I would.
