I was gonna' say I actually appreciate that. it is kind of old-school but I think it works in this era of over-saturation. you may miss the song's debut but when the video is released, esp. if it gets a hype reaction on social media, it brings the song back into people's minds, versus if everything is dropped at once and it gets excitement from fans then falls off fast.
that's a good point tbh. i'm old enough to remember when it was that way, but i've gotten used to the new structure. i think one issue, though, is that a lot of people don't check out songs unless they have a video out. i remember someone asking me why i hadn't included "mh&mh" in a new music friday post when the video came out, bc they didn't know the song debuted weeks prior.
Yeah I guess theres good points on both sides. I'd be curious to look at actual data for songs that debut with videos vs not. I also wonder if maybe the label refuses to pay for a video unless a song gets a certain number of streams etc.
I don't get her appeal. She literally has not served a look since she started she has had the same haircut and i just checked her wiki page, SHE HAS HAD 7 SINGLES OUT FOR HER DEBUT ALBUM?! WTH IS THIS LONG AS PROMO CYCLE? the album was released late 2020 but the first single came out in 2018?!
Its time to shelve that haircut. It never made anyone else get it. She did not set a trend. She has a great voice, but this look is not it. Also, after all this time, I don’t have a clear idea of what her personality is like…. She hides or something
