I'm back to watching kdramas. Right now I'm watching Move to Heaven and it's great.
Next I'll probably watch It's Okay to Not Be Okay, because I heard amazing things about it.

i was just coming here to say the only thing i've really been watching this year are k-dramas! i just finished run on, which i absolutely loved... so far though, i have thoroughly enjoyed each of the four i've watched.

Going to the movies is the best alone thing to do imo! Like, even if you feel awkward about it, no one is going to see and by the time the movie starts you'll be distracted enough that it won't matter!

Seeing Summer of Soul tomorrow and Zola on Saturday! (I was annoyed to see that Jason Mitchell is in Zola, though I realized it was filmed in 2018 and he was fired from The Chi in 2019. But isn't it something that James Franco got kicked off the project because of his misconduct, and they still ended up with a shitty dude involved in the movie? It's almost as if they're literally everywhere. 😒😒😒)

Might watch The Tomorrow War despite Crisp Rat. And The Phantom looks super interesting and infuriating.

Saw Zola on Tuesday, and I was whelmed. I thought the performances were good and the visuals and sound design were well done, but the script was lackluster and kind of flat, which was surprising for such an unusual story. I will say that the theater for Zola was packed and they had to add extra showtimes, so I won't be surprised if it does well. Then again, that could just be because LA doesn't have the Arclight anymore, where a movie like that would play huge.

Last night, we watched Do the Right Thing, which I'd never seen before, and damn, that was good! I will never get used to Spike Lee's acting - he is easily the worst part of every movie he is in - but aside from that, it was so well done. Great sense of atmosphere and community, clear visual communication of an intangible feeling of heat, and tension building and pacing that really pays off by the end. And boy, has it held up.

This week/weekend, I'm planning to go see Werewolves Within and maybe Summer of Soul, and then to watch No Sudden Move, and maybe the Fear Street
