I don't think she meant any harm; spectators are allowed to be that close and she wanted to say hi to her grandparents. The problem was she had too big of a sign and it was sideways.

I think a fine would be okay. I also don't want her name publicized because of what happened to that Steve fan with the Chicago Cubs; people are not chill when it comes to sports and he was literally getting death threats.

On a slightly positive note - when the cubs won the world series they gave him a ring

I don’t agree with you, like, at all on the fine part. Even if it wasn’t intentional she caused great bodily harm to several of the riders, just because it was an accident doesn’t absolve her from responsibility, insert car accidentally hitting pedestrian analogy here.

But yeah, her name should definitely not be public.

Yes, but there's a difference between someone causing bodily harm with a vehicle and someone just standing there. I would feel differently if she deliberately did this to harm people, but she didn't. I know people got hurt but I don't see the point of suing when a stiff fine would suffice.

I hope they sue her tbh. 1700 isn't enough.

That being said, I don't think her name needs to be released. She's probably already getting death (and probably rape threats, lbr), which isn't okay.

Yeah I'm with you. I want her name to be kept out of the media but I do want her to have to pay for the massive damage she caused. The amount of time and effort that goes in to preparing for one of these things only to be wiped out because some woman has no spatial awareness!? It's not right.

Why would you add rape threats though.. so dumb
No ones knows here name here so don't make assumptions.

women get rape threats all the time so it's not a stretch to assume that she's getting them if she's getting death threats imo

Issuing her a hefty fine and making her do probation or jail time I get but suing her seems pointless. I doubt she's worth enough for them to be able to collect much in the way of damages. Litigation shouldn't just be used as a deterrent. Courts are jammed up enough. Just prosecute her and be done.

Apparently French citizens carry public liability insurance so that's likely why they are suing her. I guess it's usually through their homeowners or rental insurance policies.

Interesting. Still not sure it's worth it though. I'm guessing she's done millions in damage.
