Chibnall's Doctor Who has just been so boring, which sucks because I love the cast. I just don't feel like I've been able to really connect with them through the arcs we've had. I dunno. I was so hype for Jodie and then all my interest just faded away.

Same. The last season was a bit better, I love the new master, but overall it's still a chore to watch.

MTE. I see people blaming Jodie for the dullness of it all, but she can only elevate the material so much on her own. In the end, I still feel she was a good choice for the role and does the best she can. Chibnall is the problem. Any Doctor under him is going to face the same problems.

I just realized I no longer know SHIT about DW. I mean, I don't watch it, never did. The only Doctor I ever saw on a screen was 9th. BUT I sure as hell knew all about the next ones because of the loud fandom. Then I knew about Jodie being cast and after that... null. Nothing. I never knew there was a new Doctor until your post.

I thought he and his manager already denied this?

Wouldn't be the first time a front runner for this show denied it to the end.

I dislike that Jodie's run would be so short, but I think Olly would make a fantastic Doctor...I'm awash in a sea of emotions

Except not rly... If the rumor is true, she would´ve stayed for Series 11-12-13 and specials. That's the same as Tennant (S2-S3-S4 and Specials), Smith (S5-S6-S7 and 50 anniversary) and Capaldi (S8-S9-S10).

This post is a good reminder I still need to catch up with all the Jodie episodes.

I think I've only seen Olly act in Penny Dreadful. Which isn't really enough to judge his acting skills.

if you want to witness olly at 100% go watch "it's a sin" - it's so good (and sad)

Agreed 'It's a Sin' is great. But for me Lydia West and Omari Douglas had more range in it than Olly. I would love to see them have a shot at Doctor Who, Lydia would knock it of the park with tempered rage and Omari would bring sass. Olly in five years sure give him a shot then.

100% agree - i loved lydia (and related the most to her character) but omari especially really touched my heart, his portrayal was so powerful and also fun. honestly the whole cast was so good
