that's totally reasonable, tbh. those fees! Then you tip the restaurant AND the driver on top of that. And then the food shows up cold! It rarely feels worth it.

My town's council just voted to send a letter to our provincial government asking them to cap fees on delivery services to no more than 15%. The provincial government will of course ignore it because all it does is REMOVE fee caps (like when they campaigned on not raising taxes, then removed insurance caps and everyone's insurance became unaffordable but hey, no taxes!), but at least our council did what it could with what little power it has.

I was going to order from a place the other night and the dinner was around $65, but with tax, delivery fee and tip, it was a full $20 on top of the food, so I said fuck it and made Kraft Dinner (again) for my kids. But hey, if you add hotdogs and frozen peas to your KD, it's a balanced meal.

Postmates was the best option here in terms of restaurant selection. Uber Eats bought them and now places that used to have $0.99 delivery are at least $3 upwards of, I shit you not, $26. For places like 1.5 miles from my house.

God knows most of that isn't going to the driver or restaurant who are doing the actual work.

So like Colbert said, is Bezos going to release the Apprentice tapes now that he owns them? Not here for Jeff at all but I will make 1 exception if he exposes Trump.

What possible incentive would he have to do that?

I'm hoping just petty hatred.

Didn't Tr*mp talk crap about the Washington Post, that Bez*s owns? That would be a good reason.

hopefully they upgrade their amazon prime video interface if they're truly serious about competing with every other stream giant, it feels terrible to navigate and looks even worse lol.

it's so awful, accessing the watchlist is a nightmare
and i feel like the stream quality is significantly less stable compared to netflix and hulu, half the time things are blurry for 30-40s at the start

The main page always looks so cluttered and chaotic.

it's horrible, and they just revamped the fire stick interface and it's still terrible, too.
