Hmmmm, I wonder why these talented women (38, 46, 38) would be taking on such roles...

i'm sure they're taking what they're offered. i mean, what's the alternative? playing the mom of a 25 year old?

I’m laughing bc amy is literally playing the mom of a 25 yr old in that dear evan hansen movie.
hollywood is so boring and predictable.

That was WTF moment #7 for me.
The first being that had wig/haircut on titular character.

Optioning the right to books, producing your own film. Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon and even Margot Robbie have been doing this. If you aren't being offered great material, find some and get it together.

I honestly think they can't tell a good script from a bad one.

tbqh, Emily Blunt's only good film has been The Devil Wears Prada. Everything else has been middling to terrible

Imagine getting 6 Oscar noms in the first 15 years of your career taking off, and then doing Hillbilly Elegy. (Plus it should be 7 noms since she was robbed for Arrival. I would also argue that she should have one for Enchanted)

Do better, Amy!

Okay, she and Glenn Close definitely deserve to be dragged for taking on that project. What a messy-ass film.

I mean, Hollywood is really hard for women over 35 because the roles start to dry up. It sucks when talented actresses are taking roles in projects that are bizarre and beneath their talent, but I can't blame them if they still want to work.
