After a year with very little action outside of promoting the award-winning film Minari, A24 is making some moves. Following the recent release of trailers for Zola and The Green Knight, the entertainment company is teaming up with Apple for the release of the upcoming film The Tragedy of Macbeth, directed by Joel Coen and starring Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand. This pairing gives Apple a prime awards contender, which will get a theatrical release sometime late in 2021 before heading to streaming on Apple TV+. The film will be scored by longtime Coen collaborator Carter Burwell, and will use ~85% of the original language of the play.
