Avoiding saying bisexual when you’re bi (ie “I don’t like labels”/ using a slur as a label) is biphobic and makes bisexual seem as if it’s some dirty word to avoid

And what if he's still trying to figure that out? Perhaps he knows he likes men but he hasn't worked out if it means he's bi or full on gay yet? I think it's fair for people to decide when they want to use a certain label, but still try to let it be known that they aren't het.

I also think you're projecting a lot of ill will onto someone who has just said they're coming out. Let people come out on their own terms.
