While talking about the insurrectionist mesh mask woman on his talk show, which was inspired by Lana del Rey's mask while at a booking signing in October, Stephen Colbert apparently defends Lana, seemly believing that was a layer of plastic beneath, saying:

If it had a plastic lining, it would be covered with condensation from your breath. I would also think it would be a breathing hazard, you know, same as putting a plastic bag on your head...

I feel like people projected shit onto her because of the way she crafted her image and it just...wasn't accurate. And some sad people are still clinging to it.

Perhaps, but, if that were the case, why not just assume this woman's mask also had a thin piece of plastic? They look identical, why give one the benefit of the doubt based on what she said, but just accept that the nutter woman's is something else?
