the post i linked has everything lol, but tl;dr: very rich clubs (literally the richest in europe/the world) decided to make their own league, without responding to FIFA or UEFA or any of the entities that "regulate" the sport, thing that is bad because football is already completely unfair, there is a very big disparity between these very rich clubs and clubs that don't have much money, you see it because the winners are always the same , so this thing will just increase that gap.
also it's just going to be a tournament for pure greed, with UCL you classify based on how good you were in the season of your local league (same with uefa europe league) but here it's just these 12 teams doing this league without any stakes, no relegation, just because they wanted to, so they can sell tickets and tv rights, they don't have to respond to anyone so they will get richer.
And it's not like corrupt fifa is better but this will make everything worse

i was listening to football weekly today and they said it's still up in the air about clubs continuing to play out the rest of the season or not, no one's made the decision to eject them yet
well at first i read it's still not decided, and the two options seem to be either psg takes it, or they allow the non-ESL teams that were knocked out in the quarter-finals to return and compete. but then there were also reports that uefa is allowing city, real, and chelsea to remain for this season.
