Doubt anything will really happen. He works with everyone so there's a lot riding on this dying out.

if it happened for harvey then it can happen for scott too

Idk. Harvey was more because he actually raped women. Idk if being emotionally abusive and getting physical with someone will warrant any type of consequence in Hollywood, sadly.

i never ever thought it would happen for harvey either tho, and it did, which gives me some hope especially since scott rudin has been the other side of that coin for years. ofc it could always come to nothing, but this broadway thing might be the beginning of a big fallout. i have to hope it is anyway lol.

I read the Hollywood Reporter piece and not surprised but also shocked, how he’d physically assault employees. Boasting that he went through 119 assistants in five years just screams more than toxic workplace. Fucking reprehensible piece of shit, he needs to be in jail.

That assistant turnover is INSANE

Originally I misread it as 19 in five years and I was like holy shit that’s pretty bad but then realized it said 119. I can only imagine the terror for people who worked there for years

My ex boss was an emotionally abusive POS. He would berate me and my coworkers in the most humiliating ways. He would also threaten to take money from our paychecks during staff meetings for HIS fuckups. He actually told me to do "whatever it took" to get new business when a client propositioned me. Thankfully I'm not there anymore but the toll these types of jobs take is truly horrible. I feel so sad for anyone who has to put up with this bullshit. Sadly labor laws in the US are terrible and protect this type of behavior. Until that doesn't change there won't be much accountability for POS like Rudin.

This was a horrifying read - I can only imagine living it. I'm so glad you got out of there, bb <3

I've dealt with terrible bosses, but only to the point of being told that I may be one of the more important people in the office, but I was also the most disposable, and therefore did not require a living wage.

Karen Olivo said she's not coming back to Moulin Rouge in part because of this. She called out Rudin being so awful and people still being too afraid to say anything as an indicator of how fucked Broadway as a whole is, and said she didn't want to be a part of it anymore.

Aaron Tveit then cancelled an Instagram live that was supposed to happen a day or two after she posted her video lmao.

that sucks, she was an amazing Satine, esp next to Tveit who was a lil lackluster imo

Yeah, she has a really powerful presence and a natural depth that he didn't (couldn't?) match. I usually feel like I'm watching him act, not watching the character, while Karen embodies the role much more fully.
