I think it's believable that Bobby was involved and Brendan is innocent and Bobby totally threw him under the bus.

I don't think Bobby ever imagined the cops would bring Brendan into this but once they did it was too late and Bobby certainly wasn't going to confess even to save his brother.

Someone fill me in as to what's going on here. I know Google but I'm looking for a brief synopsis.

A corrupt police department wanted to get revenge on a guy who'd previously been wrongfully accused of a crime, so they tried to pin another murder on him and his intellectually disadvantaged nephew, buried/planted evidence to do so, coerced a false confession from the nephew, never looked into ANY other suspects, and both of them got very unfair trials and have been in jail since.

Several motions for retrials have been denied. This new evidence shows that an eyewitness saw the nephew's brother moving the victim's car, and the police department didn't follow up on this witness because they "already knew who did it." This new evidence would've made the brother's testimony in court totally invalid, but instead, he was the star witness.

And that's what you missed on Glee.

Just a quick clarification, the corrupt police department didn't want revenge per se they wanted to stop Steven Avery from receiving a multi-million dollar judgement from a civil trial against the police department. If Steven was found guilty of another federal offense then the judgement would be vacated and they wouldn't owe him anything.
