she knew about the one-season deal and that every book is a different couple but she was shocked?

I assume she means she was shocked at the reaction, no?

I think she's saying she's shocked by the fans' reaction to it. It was only meant to have him as a main character for one season and possible cameos in season 2. She didn't expect fans to be doing this much over the news.

I love seeing major spoilers in my headlines. Guess I won't have to watch this now

Nah, you can still watch and enjoy the fun. I haven't watched either but I knew there was a focus on one family member per book, plus they haven't given away the actual story.

the show's been on netflix since christmas and him not coming back has been a topic of discussion for a while now.

You still can if you want. Him leaving after one season doesn't affect the rest of the series. His story line is done in season 1.

Isn't part of the issue that they didn’t really set up any other compelling romantic male leads, it seems like that’s a big factor in people saying that there’s no point in watching now/there’s nothing left to draw them in

Honestly, other than him, I was NOT impressed with the casting (well, and Polly Walker--forever divine). I couldn't even finish the first episode. I've read all the books, and I was soooo disappointed in this.

honestly IA, the casting leaves a lot to be desired and as shallow as this sounds, if they had cast more attractive and dynamic actors for the siblings, people would be way more excited
